June 2005 update

please see my new proposal/list

I thought I'd try writing out a full list of my ideal Fomoco lineup. This doesn't show their trucks or truck-based models but it does show an increase in model numbers due to the lower-volume/ niche-specific marketing FML seems to be implementing.

Fords will offer maximum economy and max.performance. Manual tranmissions will be avail. on all models, with all engines. Fusion/427 styling on all fwd models.
Lincoln will be powerful but specialize in luxury, not try to be sporty; super smooth adaptive automatics only, intelligent active suspension is std. Zephyr-concept styling on all fwd-awd models but with new crosshatch grille.
Mercury will have sophisticated styling, features, and mechanicals. Ex: paddle-shifting smg/dsg (optional) and adjustable suspensions (standard), so they could be sport, normal, or cushy as desired. Each Mercury model will have a wide price range to offer base to Lincoln-level features. Milan/Meta-One styling on all fwd-awd models and Marquis. The XR7 and 'M' share more adventurous styling.
Hybrids are engineered to increase both fuel economy and performance over "unassisted" IC engines. (also see mechanical differentiation )
Prices shown are for 2010MY.

FWD/AWD:

B CLASS (name?, - , - )
Ford only - 3 & 5 door hatches, 5 door crossover. 4 cyl and hybrid. $11-18.5k

D CLASS (500, Montego, TownCoupe or LTc)
These cars need a shorter overall length. Hopefully that will happen when the D+ comes out.

F - GR2 supercar. v10 or v12. $100k

D2C+
F - Falcon - 2+2door sportsedan & fastback-hatch. 3.5L v6, 4.6L v8 (and 5.4L?). $20-35-(?)
    (a stretched Mustang with 3 bar grille, no "C" scoops;
2+2door='suicide' rear doors, also used for Thunderbird & of course, the Continental)
M - Cougar or just "XR7" - 2 door coupe(dual-back), coupe-cabrio. 3.5L v6, 5.0L v8. $24-44k
    (Mercury only - 5.0L v8, adapted from 4.6/5.4 - forced-induction version too)
L - none (Sentinel?)

All new efficient Body-on-Frame (smaller outside, bigger inside, & lighter) blend of D2C/SN197 & Panther.
Pzero (shortest "P"platform)
F - Thunderbird - 2+2door sport-lux-sedan. 3.8L v6, 4.6L & 5.4L v8's. $26-44k
M - "M"/XR8 - CLS-style 4 door 'coupe-sedan'. 3.5-hybrid v6, 5.0L v8, 5.0-hybrid v8. $29-48k
    - forced-induction-5.0v8-only version with black-out trim as Marauder $37-47k

P1 (direct Panther successor - full-sized RWD platform)

Lincoln only - Mark-X - 4 door sedan. v8's only. $50-60+k
(all Marks have same sheetmetal except roof, doors, floorpan)

P3 (even longer wheelbase - extended engine compartment - interior size same as P2)
Lincoln only - Continental 2+2door flagship sedan. v10 or v12 (maybe Yamaha 4.4L v8). $60-70
(Continental has suicide rear doors, unique hood, grille & trunklid
but shares as much sheetmetal as possible with earlier-released Marks)
Livery: current Panther continues production during first year of new "P"platform, which would not be used as limo's initially (then Marquis promoted for limo's, Lincolns only available at retail).

Mazda and Volvo don't seem to need any suggestions.

Land Rover would only be sold in partnership thru L-M, Volvo, or particularly AM-Jag dealerships (not sure if this is already the situation)

Jaguar may cease to exist as a separate company. English operations could be taken over by Aston Martin, who would build 1 sedan called simply 'Jaguar' (regular and long wheelbase versions) and 1 sportscar called XK2, in addition to the A-M supercars. The XK2 would serve as an 'entry' level for A-M (ie $50-80k).
At the same time, the Jaguar name could be brought over to Ford's under-utilized US factories, to build domestic-only Jaguars. Their new logo would be a silver jaguar on a green oval.
